Standing by the swimming pool, June was really hot, so she decided to pe into the water. Not having swum in the past several years and being a bit out of shape, she became 31 quickly.
“Ah, no pain no gain,” June thought to herself. She continued to swim, realizing her head was hurting and her body was starting to get numb(麻木的). Breathing became 32 for her and her vision (视力) wasn’t so 33 . She saw the lifeguard and a couple of other people near the pool, 34 she decided that there was no sense in embarrassing herself or 35 anyone. She continued, and soon she found herself in the middle of the pool.

She was a bit worried, but by pushing herself she 36 made it to the other side of the pool. As she stood in the shallow water, her body swayed(摇摆) back and forth, 37 she needed help but unable to even say anything, she 38 against the pool side and stood there.
Several minutes later she had enough 39 to pull her body up out of the pool. Sitting on the side of the pool with her feet in the water she felt the lifeguard was 40 at her. June nodded at him to let him know that she was 41 .
Have you ever been in 42 and chosen not to ask for help? We’ve all been there. One suggestion is to 43 your instincts(本能) and seek others’ aid. There is nothing 44 with that, or June could have drowned.
Perhaps you find yourself 45 help because you’re afraid you’ll be 46 . Please, stop and ask for help —before you find yourself “drowning”. Life has many ups and downs. Let others help you when are down.
When you find yourself 47 to “keep your head above water,” stop, look around and listen. In such a situation, if you 48 , we’ll almost certainly slip further into trouble. Always take 49 to listen to your body and be 50 to yourself. You’ll find the journ ey of life happier and more fulfilling.

32. A. possible B. proper C. difficult D. unnecessary
