NEWS Around the World
1. Introduction : what we will talk about today
Today the Libyan student who became an anti Gaddafi fighter ,also an 16 -year-old who lost her father in 9.11 attacks share her feelings for the first time and cultural minister ,the song singer and writer Susana Baca.
2. The first news :from a lecture theatre to the battle
2.1. Became a fighter
First ,until February of this year ,Youssef Akhmed was studying in economics and business at the university in Tripoli. But when the uprising against Colonel Gaddafi,he decided to become a fighter .After training in the mountains ,24 year-old Youssef joined the advance on.It was involved a fierce fighting around the corners of compound .
When I spoke to Yousifu through a translator ,I asked him what his training was like .\have a very good trainer .His approach was to see the interest of every individual .And during his training in all direction ,but in general ,he used to train us on how to carry arms ,how to dismember arms and how to protect ourselves .But in general , he respected everybody 's tendency. He wanted to know people?s will and he would train on that .It was not a regent training .It was a flexible training ,because nobody was forced to go into these camps. It was a volunteer and initiative .\
2.2. In the battles
“What was it like for you ,the first time you had to fire your weapon in angle .\almost feeling of being scared and being overjoyed both at the same time .\“Do you think you killed anybody ?\
compound ,there were some mass rays there . And what we did was that kept shooting and shouting that God is great. The bullets floated about .This was a war and I'm afraid i must have killed some of those mass rays .”
\“It's only natural that no human beings would be satisfied ,would enjoy killing .No,no human beings would .I don't know if I didn't kill him ,maybe he would kill me or he would kill somebody of my brothers .\when I was considering for my life .Any time I could die any time.Luckily, there were people there encouraging us . Scholars who could come and hold our hands .They urged us to keep playing our parts .They explained to us even if we were to die ,we would go to heaven .”
2.3. The occupation of the compound
“When did you realize that you could make a break through and the rebels were going to take the compound ?” About the the occupation of the compound, what I have to tell you is full of lays of gates and walls .When we kept crossing these gates and walls,we came to what Gaddafi called the mass of the resistance .\\of course ,this compound was a mistical place .What is the reality , what did you found inside of the compound, and what did you learned about the way Qaddafi and his family lived there ?\\found this was a man who had chosen to have his own world behind those walls ,you know, golds ,bars ,statues, you know ,swimming pools .Things that every ordinary Libyans has deprived of .There was a building close by.But I think ,was never filmed or seen .Then we found this was a bar ,you know ,full of alcoholic drinks. This was a man who says he's a prince of believer .So God shalll not forgive him for what he's done.\
2.4. Everyday work and life
\is the work you are engaged now?Are you helping to keep peace in Tripiti?\Yes,indeed .I'm a member of the Apalites for the protection of Tripiti.
Everyday we go to do heliqutors ,where we're going to be assigned for the day for the six hours ,also to sensitive buildings and sensitive positions and this is the way it goes .\
“The life is very hard at the moment because we've heard of shortages of powers ,of water and of food, and you have a challenge time just getting enough to eat.\big problems .We still have to wait an hour or two ,but unlike before ,we used to work the night to get some fuel .Food stuffs help is coming .It's getting easier .It's available . I consider food is now available. The only shortage we're suffering is the shortage of water ,I must say.But there are all helpers and there are people who have well in their homes .And people help each other .Anybody go to welcome to help his neighbours .Thank God ,we won't survive little .
