能力目标:能够用英语谈论问题并给出建议,学习情态动词should和could的用法。 知识目标:

(1)表示过去的能力。通常只表示过去所拥有的一般能力,即过去能做某事,事实上不一定做了。如:I could jump higher when I was young. 年轻时,我可以跳得更高些。

(2)表推测、可能性,意为“可能”。可以用于对过去、现在或将来的推测,可以用于各种句型(否定句,肯定句,疑问句)。而can表推测时,通常只用于否定句和疑问句。如:

Don’t worry. They could have just forgotten to call. 别担心,他们可能只是忘了打电话。

(3)表示许可、委婉地提出请求、给出建议。此时不表示过去,而是表示一种更更委婉的语气。如 Could I use your phone, please? 我可以用一下你的电话吗? 【学点训练】

这三个词都可以表示“借”,区别在于:
