This bar chart describes significant changes in what consumers are buying for Mother’s Day. It can be seen from the chart that the greeting cads is the top alternative. The percentage of greeting cads has soared to 59.60%. On the contrary, the percentage of Jewelry reached at the bottom, it merely takes up for 13.30%. Besides, the percentage of flowers is sightly lager than that of eating out. The former account for 35.50% and the later account for 33.10%. Additionally, there is not a great deal of difference between the clothing or clothing accessories and

housewares or card tools, it also takes up for 16.70%. Surely, 16.20% of the consumers aim to buy gift certificates for Mother’s Day.

Therefore, what factors cause the situation?

On the one hand, with the fast development of modern society, the convenient become a growing awareness, thus, the greeting cards is most popular option. On the other hand, there is no doubt that the Jewelry is so expensive that the people can’t afford it, consequently, it is reached a low point. In addition, the people who choose to flowers and eating out for their mother reveals that they think it can express their intention than other gifts.

As for me, I prefer to cook a delicious meal for my mother instead of buying gifts, which can show I have grown up. And it means that I have the ability to look after her, I think that’s the best gift for her.

In a word, no matter what gifts we buy, the mother will receive happily. It is not the gifts but the heart that counts.
