4.习语的文学艺术性
“文学是以语言文字为工具，形象地反映生活、表达思想、抒发感情的艺术，是人类文化的一种高级形式。一个民族的文学语言往往是该民族语言的精华，它来自于民间，经过文学巨匠的锤炼，又通过文学作品的流传，被人们广泛诵读，从而促进了民族语言的发展。文学巨匠们的精彩词句更是在民间厂‘为流传最终形成习语。绿色自16世纪起就一直和嫉妒相联系，被赋予了嫉妒的含义。green一eyedmonster此语最早出现于莎士比亚所写的悲剧《奥瑟罗》( Othello)中，1995年影片《奥瑟罗》( Othello)中的台词是这样的:( lago) Oh, Beware, my lord, of jealousy. It isthe gree一eyed monster which doth mock the meat it feeds on.
又如在《美丽坏宝贝》( Pretty Persuation)中:
Brittany:Kimberly and Troy used to go out. Now that Troyand I are together, she could have been a green一eyed monster,but instead she’s been really sweet about it.
在莎士比亚的《温莎的风流娘儿们》( The MerryWifves of Windor) (1958)第二幕第三场中，恶棍Pistol对决意不肯借钱的Sir John Falstaff说，"Why, then the world’smine oyster, which I with sword will open. 5、习语的通俗简洁性
电影语言源于生活，多表现生活中的细微点滴，故显得更简朴、精炼和生活化。电影剧作家通常在词中采用日常生活约定俗成的口语、理语、惯用法等表达方式，赋予其现代感，使之简单明了，便于观众了解角色意图，尽早融人剧情。英语习语共享的文化特征使得它们在影视剧中经常被缩略使用，因为很多信息不用完全说出对方也会知道。例如:美国人常说I am all ears，相当于中文里的“洗耳恭听”。请看《独立日》(Independence Day)中的一片段:
Jimmy:Let’s bring it home. Bring that bad boy home,Capt.!You loose?
Steve:Yes，sir I Got your Vicaory Dance?
Jimmy ; Oh , I got it right here yeah!
Steve; Hey. Don’t get premature on me, soldier. We don’t light up till the fat lady sings.
Jimmy; I’m all ears，borther I
You loose?为you stay loose?缩略式。Stay loose或hangloose在理语中表示“沉着”“放松”。美国人有句口头禅It’s not over until the fat lady sings，表示在比赛尚未完全结束之前不能确定胜负。
